Subject: I'm never coming home :-)

Heellllllooooooo!

Just a brief update on my whereabouts and an official complaint to the lack of emails I receive these days (ie. Vanessa).

I just got back yesterday from trekking 3 days in Northern Thailand. I had the most *unreal* time - one of my best yet. Thai people are *so* beautiful. Trekked through remote hill tribes, went bamboo rafting, engaged in a local "ritual" (ask me about it when I'm home), and oh... the best yet... I rode atop Babar, my 5 ton mammoth elephant (new favorite animal), through forest and rivers. I was laughing hysterically saying "I can't believe I'm straddling a f**king elephant!". It was a sight I never imagined possible. Ooooo, have you ever seen the fifth leg of an elephant? Oh my buddha, it's a red rocket (2 ft long and an 8" diameter). Pictures coming soon.

Malaysia is gorgeous country but saturated with the most perverted, repressed, Muslim men in the world. Ran all over Kuala Lampur hunting out showers without peepholes. How pathetic is that?! Best Indian food I've ever had (new favorite food). Met a bunch of great people and had a sort of holiday in the Cameron Highlands for a week. Met up with a friend in Penang which was superb. Also went shopping in Penang. Oops.

Then up to the islands (Ko Tao and Ko Pha-Ngan) of Southern Thailand for much of nothing. Got restless and went to Bangkok, the city of soul. Had a stomach "thing" for a day and purged my entire system. Now I'm obsessed with my regularity and all I do is engage in potty talk (ongoing favorite subject - I'm working on that)). There's no imaging the rank and foulest smells in Bangkok.

So, Liz and I never parted ways. She leaves for Ireland on the 29th so our time left together is really limited. If I haven't told you already, I've decided to stay in SE Asia for a few months and hold out for Nepal around mid-Sept through Nov when there's better trekking weather. Liz and I will stay together to the end and then I'm off to... ha... would you believe I don't really know yet. I keep changing my plans. By the looks of it, I'll *probably* go to Cambodia for 2 wks and then up through Vietnam, starting in Saigon and up to Hanoi. Then over to Laos and back into Thailand. I really have no idea.

Right... so there you have it. Alot of everything and nothing. Same same but different.

Amy
xoxo

Vanessa, my love, Happy 27th! Wish I was there.
