n May/June of 2001, my bicycle took me along the ancient Via Tolansa pilgrimage route from Florence, Italy to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. Le Chemin de St Jacques de Compostelle, el Camino de Santiago de Compostela, the Road to Santiago. Along the way, I encountered mountain ranges, blazing sun, freezing cold, long roads, attacking orange trees, and a sore rear end. But along with that true pilgrim-style suffering came an equal measure of magic. For other travelogues, go to my home page, Gone Walkabout
