The bike was an old Miyata Six-Ten touring bicycle I bought sometime back in 1984. At the time, it was one of the best touring bikes produced, but a bit large for a teenage kid. I eventually grew into it, and rode it up and down the East Coast of the States as well as around Europe a couple times when I was a student. For the last decade or so, it's served me well as a commuter bike and occasionally as a road bike out and about the Marin Headlands. This was the last trip the bike would ever take before being destroyed, so I'm glad I managed one last trip with it.
